BACKGROUND
The 1967 Mustang marked a significant evolution of Ford’s original pony car, featuring a wider track, revised bodywork, and improved chassis proportions that allowed for larger engines and more serious performance applications. Visually more aggressive than earlier models, the ’67 platform became a natural foundation for competition-focused builds.
This example is finished in a period-inspired racing livery and has been configured from the ground up with track use in mind. While retaining the classic Mustang silhouette, nearly every major system has been optimized to support sustained high-performance driving.
MODIFICATIONS
Power comes from a 347ci small-block Ford V8, a stroked variant of the 302 that delivers increased displacement while maintaining a compact and high-revving character. Supporting upgrades include an aggressive camshaft, upgraded oiling system, improved cooling, and custom vented valve covers, all selected to handle extended track use reliably.
The chassis has been extensively reworked for handling and stability. A Control Freak triangular four-link rear suspension is paired with a Currie 9-inch rear end, while QA1 adjustable coilovers up front and Viking double-adjustable dampers in the rear allow for precise suspension tuning. Wilwood brakes at all four corners provide consistent stopping power, and additional bracing improves overall chassis rigidity under load.
DRIVING
This Mustang feels purpose-built the moment it’s driven. Throttle response is immediate, and the 347 delivers strong, usable power without overwhelming the chassis. The balance between engine output and suspension setup makes the car predictable and confidence-inspiring at speed.
Matched spring rates, adjustable damping, and proper alignment give the car sharp turn-in while maintaining composure through longer corners. It’s a car that rewards smooth inputs but remains forgiving enough to be driven hard, making it equally enjoyable for aggressive laps or more relaxed track sessions.
